About NARAQUAN
Born from a need. Built on courage.
NARAQUAN is a nonprofit organization founded to defend the rights and restore the dignity of those who have been silenced — vulnerable youth ages 18–21, survivors of domestic violence, and survivors of sexual violence.
Our Story
Why we exist
NARAQUAN was founded on a simple but urgent truth: too many people suffer in silence because they don't know their rights, don't have access to support, or don't believe anyone will listen.
We started as a small group of advocates, counselors, and legal professionals who refused to look away. Over the years, we have grown into a recognized nonprofit — but our mission has never changed: to stand beside the vulnerable and fight for their wellbeing, dignity, and future.
Every case we take, every youth we support, every survivor we walk alongside — it is all part of the same commitment. We believe healing is possible. We believe justice matters — not only in a courtroom, but in the quiet, personal sense: the moment someone reclaims their voice, rebuilds their sense of self, and feels whole again. And we believe no one should face their hardest moments alone.
What We Stand For
Our Core Values
Protection
We put the safety and wellbeing of those we serve above all else — advocating fiercely for those who cannot advocate for themselves.
Healing
We believe in the resilience of survivors. Our programs are designed to support recovery, restore dignity, and build pathways to a better future.
Justice
We pursue accountability and systemic change — working within legal frameworks and alongside communities to ensure rights are upheld.
Empowerment
We give survivors and youth the tools, knowledge, and support to reclaim their voices and shape their own stories.
Community
We believe change happens together. We build coalitions, train advocates, and partner with organizations that share our commitment.
Integrity
We hold ourselves to the highest standard of honesty — accountable to those we serve, our donors, and our community in every decision we make.
Our People
The team behind the mission
Our staff and leadership bring decades of combined experience in legal advocacy, trauma-informed care, social work, and community organizing.
